Bread Chaat

Craving some street food? Something cool and spicy and sweet and chatpata? Here's an easy chaat - just one serving to take care of all your taste buds.

Portions below are for 2 servings. All quantities are adjustable to taste.

Ingredients:

2 slices bread (white or wheat - your choice)
1 boiled potato, peeled and diced ~ 1/2 cup
1/4 cup sprouts (optional)
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
1/2 cup diced cucumber
1 tablespoon chopped raw mango (optional)
1/3 cup diced onions
1/2 cup thin sev
2 tablespoons tamarind chutney
2 tablespoons green chutney
4 tablespoons plain curd (yogurt)
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder (bhuna jeera)
1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
Salt

In a bowl, add potato, tomato, cucumbers, sprouts, mango, onions, chili powder, cumin, chaat masala and salt. Mix well to coat evenly. Taste and adjust seasoning.

In a serving plate take a slice of bread. You may cut the crust if you like, I didn't. Apply half of the curd on the bread. This will make it soft. Next put half the vegetable mixture on top. Put green and tamarind chutney.  Sprinkle with sev and serve!

  2. Looks quite interesting. Adding boiled peanuts and crushed Paani Puri would make it more crispier and tastier. A must try.
