Yesterday I had posted a gathiya recipe. Today's bento uses that as a snack. So lets see how its made...
- Protien: Cheese
- Carbohydrates: Bread and Jam Pinwheels
- Fruit: Banana
- Vegetable / Snack: Gathiya
The star of this bento is the banana. They are nutrient dense and filling, keeping hunger at bay. Additionally I added ganthiya for lentil based protein and cheese for some dairy protein.
Kids love jam and this bread and jam pinwheel is the fun element of the bento.
To make the pinwheels, take 2 slices of bread (I used brown) and cut off the crusts. Sprinkle a few drops of water and try to flatten them with a rolling pin. Apply jam and roll tightly. Seal ends as best as you can. Cut into 1/2 inch pieces. Viola jam pinwheels are ready.
