Oats and Dry Fruits Ladoo

With healthy eating on the rise, these delicious and easy beauties do double duty - they are excellent for breakfast and great as dessert as well. Once you have the nuts and oats in place, they are a breeze to make. They are sweet because of the dates and if you love oats, this will be your new go-to breakfast!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Rolled Oats
1/2 cup Almonds
1/2 cup Cashew Nuts
1/2 cup Walnuts
1/4 cup Pistachios
1 1/2 cup Dates
1/2 tsp Ghee

In a wok, roast the almonds while constantly stirring, till they are darker in colour and with a few even darker spots. Similarly roast the cashew nuts, walnuts and pistachios. Keep aside to cool. After the nuts are done, roast the oats for 2 minutes and keep aside to cool.

When the oats are cooled, grind them into a fine powder. Next grind the remaining dry fruits except dates. While grinding the nuts, use the pulse setting else they will release oils. You can grind them fine or coarse as you would like the texture of the laddoo.

Deseed and chop the dates.

Heat the wok and add the ghee. Next put the dates and saute till it loosens a little. Next add the dry fruits and mix. Remove from heat. When mixed thoroughly, let it cool down till you can handle it. Now take a fistful and press into a ball. This mixture makes about 18-20 1 inch balls.

Store in an airtight container in a refrigerator for up to a fortnight!
